A Few Updates

We will not be meeting on our regularly scheduled first Thursday next week, April 1, because of spring break Holy Thursday. We will have our regularly scheduled third Thursday meeting April 15 in the AES Cafeteria and to make up for our missed meeting, we will also meet on April 29. We'll still have our regular meeting the first Thursday in May.
Remember, if you signed up, the BIRTHDAY BASH is SATURDAY from 7 to 9 p.m. MARCH 27 at St Francis Kilduff Hall.
Because of conflicting schedules with most of the girls, we have cancelled the My Body for April 24 that was rescheduled from February. This is offered again in the fall, so we will try to sign up for that then. You will get a refund as soon as we receive the money from the council.
Also because most girls could not attend, we are rescheduling the Anita Leight Estuary Center for May 2 from 1:30 to 3. This is a tentative date, so if you could let us know your availability ASAP. This will be $2 for each girl.
Have a great day!

Meeting Tomorrow!

Our Brownie meeting is tomorrow at 6:30-7:45 in the AES Cafeteria. We would like it if all the girls could attend. They are going to make their badges for the lock-in and talk about the lock-in. Meeting Tomorrow!

It's the first Thursday of the month and time for our meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the AES Cafeteria. We will be talking more about our "Quest" and also celebrating Valentine's Day!!!
Our next meeting on the third Thursday, Feb. 18., will be focused on Girl Scout Thinking Day. This is a time when Girl Scouts all over the world celebrate their "sisterhood". It helps the girls realize that there's a big world out there, but that there are girls in other countries that are similar to them.
We will be working on our project for the Thinking Day activity at St. Francis, so even if the girls are not able to attend that event, they can still celebrate this Girl Scout holiday.
The girls have been working hard on earning their "discovery keys" for their Journey. Please take the time to talk about what they're doing after each meeting.
Each girl at the last meeting received a commitment form that they should turn in on Thursday. If your Scout was not in attendance, we will make sure she receives it. It's about ways that the Girl Scouts can make their families healthier, and ties in with our Brownie Quest.
With snow forecasted on Saturday, we will keep everyone updated on the status of that event.
Look forward to our meeting!

Brownie Quest!

Tonight is the first night of our Brownie Quest!

Here’s a little information about it:

Your Brownie is on a Quest—a special journey to find out what it means to be a leader. This experience will benefit her by guiding her to understand her own skills and values as she teams with others, learns to identify community needs, and then acts to better her community, inspiring others along the way.

On the Quest, your Brownie will earn three keys and then solve the mystery of what they open!

Throughout their journey, your Brownie and her Brownie Team will need a little assistance from the Brownie Family and Friends Network! Talking to your Brownie between each session of the Quest will make the experience even more beneficial to her! Just use the information provided on the overview to follow her experiences on the Quest.

You will notice that after a few of the sessions, your Brownie will bring home a “Brownie Family Activity.” After assisting your Brownie with the activity, be sure to send it back with her to the next session. Each activity on the Brownie Quest builds into the next one.

Later in the Quest the Brownies will team up on a project to help their community. After the girls decide what kind of project to do, we’ll need help with transportation and supplies.

Our first session is Discovering ….You, Values, Family.

The girls will discover the talents and qualities that make them unique. They will also discover the values of the Girl Scout Law. After the session, look at pages 49-51 of the Brownie Quest book with your Brownie. Assist her in discovering the talents, qualities and values your family is proud of by completing the “Discovering Family” activity she will bring home.

We are eager to get started!!!

A few reminders, please make sure your daughter has used the restroom before she comes to the meeting. When one goes, everyone has to go, so it really cuts into our time. We also understand that 6:30 is tough for some parents who have to work and commute, but please, if you’re picking up fast food for dinner before the meeting, please make sure your Brownie has eaten before she comes into the meeting. Please don’t send her in with food. We can make sure she catches up on any activity and gets everything done.
